Koutoubia Mosque: Named after the booksellers market that originally stood in its place, the Koutoubia Mosque is one of the largest and oldest mosques in Marrakech. Completed during the rule of the Almohad caliph Abu Yusuf Yaqub al-Mansur in the late 12th century, the Koutoubia Mosque is situated just next to the iconic Jemaa el-Fnaa bazaar, and is notable for its large plaza and stunning night view. The Koutoubia Mosque is believed to have inspired other buildings around the world, including the Hassan Tower in Rabat, Morocco, and the Giralda in Seville, Spain.
