2015 is a year filled with infinite travel possibilities. We’ve unwrapped a few off-the-beaten path travel destinations well worth considering in the coming year – some of which are best reached via private jet charters.
These are a few of our favorite destinations for the year ahead.
Valletta, Malta
The stunning nation is filled with cathedrals, palaces, and breathtaking harbor views. In addition to the timeless sights that make Valletta so spectacular to visit, is a thriving nightlife and growing culinary scene along with new buildings displaying thoroughly modern architecture, such as the new city entrance and an open air theater.
Grand Harbor is almost worth the trip to Valletta alone. With a 2000 year history, constant sights and sounds, and the harbor offers stunning views of the Med and acts as a staging ground and popular port of call for many Mediterranean cruises.
Malta International Airport is located in Luqa and Gudja, approximately 6.2 miles (10 kilometers) outside of Valletta. While it can easily accommodate private jet charter flights, it is the only airport currently operating in Malta.
Punta del Este, Uruguay
If beaches are among your favorite things, you’ll find some of the best beaches in South America in Punta del Este. While the beaches are certainly the main attraction in Punta del Este, you should definitely resist the temptation to spend all your time on the beach.
This will allow you to get out and enjoy nearby attractions like Isla de Lobos, where a huge colony of sea lions have made themselves at home, or the Feria Artesanal market in the center of town that features abundant craft items.
Regional flights are available to Capitan de Corbeta Carlos A. Curbelo International Airport in Punta del Este, which is far more convenient than landing in Carrasco International Airport (where most commercial flights land), which is 71 miles away.
Hyderabad, India
This city is the perfect example of a city that blends past and present without batting an eye. Once the home to the wealthiest men in the world, today it is a glittering skyline monument to technology as the home of many global IT brands, some have taken to calling it Cyberabad.
National Geographic recommends traveling to Hyderabad between the months of November and March when the weather is dry and mild, typically between 85 and 95 degrees Fahrenheit.
Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, otherwise known as Hyderabad International Airport is currently the only active airport serving Hyderabad.
There are plenty of attractions to visit in Hyderabad, including the state of Buddha at Hussain Sagar Lake, Hitec City, Nehru Zoological Park, Taramati Baradari, Golconda Fort, and Chilkur Balaji Temple.
Milan
More than just a place to visit to take in the world’s finest fashion shows, Milan may not be the first Italian city that comes to mind for travel, but this oft-forgotten city has a lot to offer. Despite the fact that it isn’t Venice, Rome, or even Florence, Milan still attracts nearly twenty million visitors each year through countless events that take place throughout the city.
Most famous for its fashion district, Milan is becoming equally well known for its culinary feats that include an increased focus on diverse cuisines from all regions of Italy. If you consider yourself a person of discriminating taste in fashion and food, this is one trip you don’t want to miss.
