Popular Destinations in Ras Al Khaimah
Looking for activities once your private jet arrives in Ras Al Khaimah? Ras Al Khaimah offers a huge variety of interesting tourist attractions. Some of the most popular ones include:
National Museum of Ras Al Khaimah: Until 1964, this 19-century fort was home to various Qawassim rulers. These days it contains artifacts derived from archaeological digs. The once-vital port at Julfar is a highlight from which artifacts come, and the typical assortment of ethnological items and pottery behind its ornate doors are as well. Of particular interest are the terracotta urns and intricately patterned soft stone vessels from the Iron Age.
Club Acacia: For lovers of nightlife, Club Acacia is the go-to spot for dancing and having a good time. In addition to a stylish dance floor and a jumping atmosphere, visitors can partake in snooker, darts, and Karaoke. The club is located at the Acacia Hotel.
Jazirat Al Hamra Fishing Village: Although this village is technically closed, that doesn’t stop ghost town aficionados from peeking through the barriers and exploring. Shops, schools, mosques, wind towers and coral stone houses comprise these spooky remains. As far as age-old UAE villages go, this is the oldest and best-preserved. It’s 16th century roots were restored in 1968, when residents revamped the economy with pearling and fishing.
Al Sahari:Â Simply put, the food and service are amazing at Al Sahari. Fresh juices, fried fish, kebabs, and copious selections of mezze are served on linen tablecloths surrounded by a tiny, blue-walled dining room. Men are seated on the right and families and women are seated on the left. Separation of genders is typical in this area. Those seeking simple sandwiches and/or an Arabic breakfast can step next door to the attached cafeteria.
Dhayah Fort: Wear those hiking shoes to climb the zig-zagging staircase that leads to this hilltop fortress. The climb, however, is well worth the effort. A 360-degree panorama of RAK vistas comes into view containing the Hajar Mountains and a massive date-palm oasis. In 1819, this 19th-century twin-towered fort was the last battle site between local tribes and British troops.
Breakers on the Beach: Located at the Cove Rotana Resort, this quintessential bar on the beach serves mocktails, cocktails, and coffees to patrons while they chill out, count crashing waves, or wiggle their toes in the sand.
Passage To Asia: Asia’s two most popular cuisines served at Passage To Asia are Thai and Japanese. Located at the Ras Al Khaimah Resort and Spa, Passage to Asia offers a wonderfully attentive staff and a setting accented by beautiful tropical flowers.
Grand Manar: Anyone in need of a break can take in a quick movie at this megaplex. Blockbusters are presented in the English language – good news for many tourists.
