Jim Thompson’s House: Located opposite one of Bangkok’s largest shopping malls, MBK, the Jim Thompson House is a highly-visited museum. American businessman Jim Thompson built this home in 1959 to showcase his collection of Southeast Asian art. Here, visitors can tour the 19th century house and learn more about Thai architecture and culture.
Lumphini Park: Sometimes referred to as the ‘lungs’ of the city, this 142-acre site is located near the geographical center of the city, near the Silom and Sathorn business districts. Here, visitors can enjoy the abundance of green space including swimming pools, play areas for kids, and an open air gym.
Chatuchak Market: Also known as JJ Market, tourists flock to this open-air market that has more than 8,000 shops and stalls. Visitors to Chatuchak Market can wander around its 27 market sections and see nine different types of good including books, clothes and antiques. Open on Friday to Sunday, this market is also famed for its range of Thai silks and antiques. There is a huge selection of quirky street restaurants and many tourists come here to experience genuine Thai cuisine.
Taling Chan Floating Market: Although Thailand is famous for its traditional floating markets where fruits, vegetables and fish are sold from floating boats, Taling Chan is one of few markets left in Bangkok. Located on the canal, Khlong Chak Phra, in front of the District Office, it is only open on weekends.

Airports In or Nearby Bangkok For Private Jets

- Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK): This is the main international airport serving the city of Bangkok. It was first opened for commercial flight use in 2006, and later opened for domestic flight use as well. BKK is the main hub for the Thai Airways, Bangkok Airways and the Orient Thai Airlines as well. In addition to that, it also serves as the regional gateway, serving connecting flights to numerous foreign carriers. The airport is currently the 10th busiest in the world, and the busiest in the entire country.
- Don Mueang International Airport (DMK): This is the old international airport serving the city of Bangkok. It is one of the world’s oldest international airports. It was officially opened in 1914 and was initially used as a military base. Commercial services at the airport began in 1924, with the first flight being a KLM Royal Dutch Airlines plane. It services more than 80 different airlines and handles more than 40 million passengers a year. Today, general aviation use is also common at this airport.
- Kamphangsaen Airport (KDT): This is an airport that is located around 40 nautical miles from the city of Bangkok. It is located at an elevation of 30 feet above sea level, and has one concrete runway. KDT mainly serves chartered traffic to the Nakhon Pathom region, and can be used to access Bangkok within a one and a half hour drive.
- U Tapao Rayong Pattaya International Airport (UTP): Tapao Airport is a joint civil and military airport that services the regions of Pattaya and Rayong. It is in the Ban Chang district of Rayong Province. UTP is notable for being home to one of the largest Thai Airways maintenance facilities in the country, which provides maintenance to both Thai Airways and other carrier aircraft as well. It also serves as a hub to and from major cities in the region including Guangzhou, Osaka, Novosibirsk and Omsk via charter flights.
- Mae Fah Luang International Airport (CEI): This airport is located 10 kilometers from the Chiang Rai city center in Northern Thailand. It is managed by the Airports of Thailand Company, and handles more than one million passengers every year. Though it has facilities that meet international standards, it only serves one international route to Kunming Changshui International Airport. Most of the traffic to and from the airport is domestic and private air charters are allowed.
- Khon Kaen Airport (KKC): This is one of the upcoming airports in the country as it serves the Khon Kaen city, a city that has great geographical and economic importance. It has one jet bridge, restaurant and other amenities. This airport features an asphalt runway.
- Lampang Airport (LPT): Serving the city of Lampang, this airport has one asphalt runaway around 2,000 meters long. It is mainly used by Bangkok Airways and Nok Air, as well as other chartered aircraft.
- Loei Airport (LOE): This airport mainly serves the city of Loei in Thailand. The main commercial carriers using it include Thai AirAsia and Nok Air, with the rest of the traffic coming from private jets.
- Hua Hin Airport (HHQ): Located in the Prachuap Khiri Khan province, this is a public use airport located around 2 hours away from Bangkok. Hua Hin is also the town that houses the King’s Summer Palace, so this airport is ranked importantly among the other Thai airports. It serves two domestic flight destinations as well as other general aviation flights.
