About the Event: The PGA Championship is one of the four major professional golf championship tournaments held every year. The 2018 tournament marks the 100th anniversary. The week-long event includes three days of practice rounds and four days of tourney play.
About the City: St. Louis is renowned for the Gateway Arch, celebrating the city as the launching point of America’s westward expansion. Don’t miss riding the tram to the top. Given the city’s location along the Mississippi River, it would be a shame to visit St. Louis and not also take in music at its many jazz and blues venues.
Why Stay A While: St. Louis also, of course, is known for beer and baseball. Before or after the PGA Championship, visit the historic Budweiser Brewery, sample the local favorite Schlafly, and tour Busch Stadium. You’re in luck, too: Right after the PGA Championship ends, the St. Louis Cardinals start a seven-day homestand (Aug. 13-19) at Busch Stadium against the Washington Nationals and the Milwaukee Brewers.
